What a view!

Note: I went to the Galapagos a number of years ago but was not shooting digital at that time. I came back with shots taken from my point-and-shot Minolta. Recently I took the negatives from that trip and had them transfered to disc. The quality has suffered somewhat but they are still interesting enough to show.

Geologically Santa Fe Island, in the Galapagos, is one of the oldest islands in the chain.

Volcanic rocks about 4 million years old have been found there.

The vegetation of the island is characterized by brush, palo santo trees and stands of a large variety of the prickly pear cactus (Opuntia echios).
