Marcha / 23 de Enero
Caracas Venezuela / Jan 2008
Hugo Chavez's government has imprisoned 30 people, and has accused at least 700 more of "political crimes". Some of them have been in jail for up to four years, awaiting the outcome of their trials; others haven't even been indicted. Venezuela's institutions --like the Attorney General's Office, the Public Advocate, the Supreme Court and the National Election Council-- are all controlled by Chavez and have voided all attempts to free these political prisoners.
