Peziza pseudoviolacea

A common pioneer inhabitant of burn sites. It is very similar to P. violacea, but the spores are different - the latter has longer, warty spores, and the spores of P. violacea are oval and smooth. The smaller white-rimmed cups are Geopyxis carbonaria.
