Kangaroos_Gascoyne Junction_WA_May 2009_DSC_6920_D
On the road to Gascoyne Junction from Carnarvon in the north west of Western Australia, I experienced 200 kms that I thought may be boring. It proved to be the opposite. Wildlife was abundant, some casualties that brought out the scavengers and consequently I was able to grt the shots posted earlier of Wedge Tailed Eagles. These 2 kangaroos sat very nicely for me as I slowly aproached - most hop off long before getting this close, except at night when they can jump right in front of vehicles - hence the casualties. After we sat watching each other for 20 seconds or so, they too decided to high tail it out of there ( the next shot)!
