Johnstown Flood Dam

Remains of the earthen dam that broke causing the Great Johnstown Flood. Prior to the flood, the valley to the right of the photo would have been a deep artificial lake. The building on the far hillside is the Johnstown Flood Memorial visitors center.

The freight rail line was installed after the flood, and serves a number of mining towns.
