Back to my normal Monday night closing schedule, as I had opened the previous two Mondays in result of my complaining that I close too much. Unfortunately that ment I was rather lazy before going to work this afternoon, and with that being said I didnt take any pictures until 4 hours into my shift. I wandered around a little bit in the parking lot trying to find interesting shapes but couldnt find any, and the heat was rather unbearable to say the least. I came into the walkway between the outdoors and indoors of the store, and sat down. Noticing the shadows being cast by low sun I looked thru my viewfinder to see how it appeared, and to much glee I found that it peaked my interest. Watching the people walk through the doors, I felt they were cluttering the frame: so when this man came strolling up to the door and it didnt open immediately I snapped a few frames. I messed up the focus but I was lucky as he turned around, and went outside to throw something in the trash can and the returned swiftly inside. A quick burst of 3 frames from my camera captured him and instantly created him the POD. Although the original color version of the shot had some wonderful orange glow coming from the setting sun, I found that to make the shapes in the doors and the silouette of the man pop I had to convert to black and white. Maintaining detail was critical, with all the wonderful textures in the scene.
Now for Tuesday A DAY OFF :D
