Green Feature Wall in Bush Room – Strawbale House Build in Redmond Western Australia
We painted the internal plasterboard dividing wall green and will use it to hang a gallery of nature photographs. Architraves, cornices and skirting boards were made by Sue out of rough-sawn jarrah facecuts from the local timber mill. The boards are cut into strips on the table saw before running through a planer/thicknesser, then cut to size, and oiled with 50:50 turpentine/linseed oil mix before fixing into place. By contrast, the rustic timber feature wall is raw.
