Boiling the Ocean Floor
This video was taken at Evangeline Beach, Nova Scotia this week just after the noon high tide went out.
It was so hot and humid that day (+35C with humidex or 95F), that the water that remained on the exposed ocean floor was evaporating and was coming off as steam.
And people say that you can't boil the ocean.....
The body of water here is the Minas Basin - part of the Bay of Fundy.
The vertical distance between low and high tide is the height of a 4 story building, so when the tide goes out, it really goes out and you can walk along time to get to the very low tide water mark.
I submitted this video to The Weather Network here in Canada in the Wacky Weather category, and it was shown on TV. On TWN website it has gotten 4500+ hits so far.
Update: Later the same day this video had 11600+ views on TWN.
Update 2: Still later the same day, this video had over 22500 views online on TWN.
