Architect: Gary Chang
The Suitcase house gets its name from its design. Built into the floors bathrooms, showers, a kitchen, lounge spaces, and storage. These volumes are covered by pneumatically assisted wood doors.
The interior walls of the house are completely movable. They slide on tracks in the ceiling. The house can be programmed for up to 7 bedrooms, or opened up into one giant room.
The configuration I photographed it in, is for a banquet hall. One large room in the center with the kitchen module open. Two rooms on both end. One room served as a bathroom, another as an IT room, one storage, and the last was a small meeting room.
