2.4Ghz Workshop: A psychogeographical exploration of surveillance networks.

Wireless surveillance cameras are becoming more and more widespread as they become cheaper. What most users of the devices don't realise is that they are broadcasting the signal. The 2.4GhzTM project uses a wireless video receiver to hack into these networks. The project initially involved walking around different towns in Europe collecting and recording footage, resulting in several videos that have been released online. The second stage of the project consisted of placing a device in the street to reveal the presence of the cameras and make obvous the fact that anyone can receive those signals.

For re : public receivers will be mounted onto dublinbikes and participants will be invited to explore Dublin via the wireless CCTV network.
