Richmond Park crips winter sunrise

Richmond Park Crisp Winter Sunrise - I have always wanted to go to Richmond Park and see the the stag at sunrise or sunset so when in London and staying in Putney I looked at the weather to see if it would be worth the trip. It looked really promising and a hard frost was forecast. We got up at 6am and got the overground to Richmond and then a bus which dropped us at Richmond Gate and we walked down through a plantation to the lake. I was overjoyed to find a stag and deer fortunately grazing in front of the sunrise. I feel so luck to have witnessed nature at its best and to think this is in central London is mind blowing. We continued to walk the park and found some stags rutting with one looking like a judge. We were frozen and although the sun was up, it had not had any impact on the baltic temperature. This was the most magical sunrise of my life and I am still in disbelief that it all came together with the weather, frosty, misty morning, finding the deer and getting a sunrise. Lucky, happy and now a lot warmer!
