former Jeffery Theater

    Newer Older

Built as the office space and lobby for the Jeffery Theater, a movie palace, in 1923, this beautiful building was designed by William P. Doerr. The auditorium itself was demolished in the late 1990s, and ShoreBank modernized the corner office in a pretty unsympathetic way. It is now the headquarters of the successor Urban Partnership Bank, but sports worrying for-sale signs.

Me too! Cinema Tour is OK. They do tend to have a more pictures than cinematreasures.

Both sites are great, and Tour more for its pics, like archer said. Cinema Treasures came in handy tonight, when I was trying to look up info for the main downtown location of Argo Tea where they brew their teas at(and next door to the Oriental Theater, and the ex-Borders), before posting a pic of that building.
