House of the Day #30: 9203 S. Pleasant Avenue
This beautiful house at 9203 S. Pleasant, in the characteristically verdant Beverly neighborhood, was built in 1894. It was the home of William M. R. French, first director of the Art Institute of Chicago. The architect was William Augustus Otis, who lectured on architecture at the Art Institute, and the interior reportedly features sculptures by the owner's brother, Daniel Chester French. Blogged.
