Maybe the longest onomotopoeia, a DNA-like intertwining fall on the first page of Finnegan's Wake that could mark Joyce's 16 year fall into his night mind's seeming linguistic incoherence. One could object that ...thurnuk! cannot land so gently horizontal as these graceful lines, yet after Joyce's fall he bounds forward with obsessive energy for over 600 pages, abundant evidence of no injuries except to his eyesight and sanity.
