HP DV6000 motherboard. The boards had a high failure rate due to defective parts and poor cooling provided by HP

The thermal compound between the CPU and heatsink will eventually dry and crack, forming a gap, this causes the CPU to overheat and die, the heat from the cpu will also be transferred to the chipset, causing it to be very hot and shortening the life of it. The gpu (geforce 7200M was a defective chip, confirmed by nvidia, but HP still chose to ship laptops with the defective chip, then charging customers $400 to fix the problem and failing to honor warranty services due to the cost of replacing the boards.
