A Trek to Sinhagarh..28..The starry flowers..

These are very ordinary flowers in abundance but were looking great in a cluster. Photgraphed on walk-way to Sinhagarh fort near Pune, India.


These are known generically as Tridax procumbens Linn.


Common name is - Coat buttons or Tridax Daisy

In sanskrit it's known as Ekapushpi / Vranaropani, and Chiravanakku in malayalam, cadillo chisaca in Spanish, herbe caille in French, ghamra in Hindi, Bishalya karani in Oriya, Dagadi pala in Marathi, Gaddi Chemanthi (గడ్డి చామంతి) in Telugu,Thata poodu in Tamil, and kotobukigiku in Japanese.
