Gale-force winds & Combers off James Island | La Push
I know photographers who will not even consider taking out their camera unless certain foregone criteria are met: 1.) it must be cloudy, if during daylight hours, but absolutely NO bare, blue skies; 2.) it must be the hour before, leading up to, or after sunrise or sunset; 3.) dappled light is present.
Etc., etc. I don't work it that way, myself. It's more like if I get a day for heading out into the field with my cameras, it's the nature of THAT day I'm after. Not some "ideal" that exists largely in the mind, and in this fashion, is at once cliched...
This day at Rialto Beach was gale force winds stormy!! PERFECT.
