Jew Town

kerala's Jews are/were as old Judaism. Sometimes considered a lost tribe of the Jews, the Cochin Jews came here from Caranganore in the early 1700s and stayed on. They built up a community and a synagogue here. Today, Jew Town, Fort Kochi is a large tourist trap with all kinds of "exotic" stuff on sale and Kashmiri and Gujarati merchants keeping the place alive.
