Third upload from the sunday morning February 8 by sunrise... the light was really great that day... this is a boat dock, looking the oposite side from the previous post... up left there can be seen a row of old harbor warehouses, now recovered for recreation, bars and restaurants, a very popular place to go meet friends... stop by, if you ever come to Lisbon!!
Standard 3 exposures HDR [-2,0,+2EV] in RAW/ISO100 at f/13 on a tripod using the 10-20 Sigma lens.
Tonemapped using the detail enhancer.
°Duplicated background layer with multiply blend mode, 64% opacity, to bring up the sky.
°General noise reduction.
°High pass sharpening.
°Increased shadows adjustment in 3%.
°A bit of levels for contrast.
°Some highlight dodging over the boats, water and houses.
All comments, criticism and tips for improvements are ( as always ) welcome.
Tips and tricks and quotations from here and there
A quotation today from John Sexton, the great master of landscape b&w photography:
It is light that reveals, light that obscures, light that communicates. It is light I listen to!
And a Camera Raw tip: use the Fill Light slider to bring alive a backlit photo with too dark subjects. But you will notice that if you drag too much to the right, the dark shadows start to look a little washed out. To fix this, use the Blacks slider to bring back some richness to your deep shadow areas!
Have a great week you all!!
