Finally got the beauty today. Had quite a bit of trouble updating the firmware to the newest version. I usually shoot with 8Gb Sandisk Extreme SDHC cards. I got one for the M8 for around $20 on Amazon. Surprisingly enough, I first got these cards for over $50 when the Nikon D7000 came out. There's no reason to buy class 10 for an M8 but it never hurts.
In order to update I had to go to my local Walmart.. only to see that all their cards were SDHC. So I ultimately ended up at Target spending a whopping $14.66 for a Kodak (lol kodak??) 2GB SD card, praying the M8 would accept it. Turns out it did.
After the update I'm back on the SDHC Sandisk Extreme 8GB with 0 hiccups. While at it I was also able to determine how many actuations the camera has... lucky for me only 1026! Made this deal just that much better.
By the end of the week I'll have the lens and will be shooting in the streets of Chicago instead of the camera itself! Thanks for stopping by!
(She's a bit dirty -- have to clean the front)
