1975...but where?

While looking through my old neg files over the weekend I found this image mixed in with all kinds of different stuff and marked with 1975. I remember making a plastic water housing for my Minolta SRT-102 that year, so the date is correct. I'm just not sure where this was taken...Was it the South Bay or the Oxnard area or ? Any one have an idea?

    hmm, actually it looks a lot like Newport Beach,or Huntington Beach. I go to that beach all the time, and those two smoke stacks look very familiar...

    definetly oxnard. for sure. judging by how far away he is from the power plant it could be between oxnard shores and mcgrath state beach. gotta love surfing in the nard

    I love it when the noise in the picture makes the whole thing look better- noise is not neccessarily a bad thing.
