A UPRR rock train sitting on the brand new UPRR alignment around Ohare Airport. This is the realignment of their "New" line out of Proviso yard to allow for runway expansion. The realignment was on a temp ROW for 4 1/2 years that moved the UPRR tracks enough to allow for the lengthening of runway 10/28 This new alignment the rock train is on was started in early 2011 after Chicago acquired and demolished properties from Bensenville, East of York Rd. This should provide some interesting rail spotting from Beeline and York Rd. Previously, the UPRR curved away from York Rd just North of Foster Ave toward the airfield, and it was difficult at best to photograph UPRR trains. Now UPRR and CPRR trains will be very easily photographed

Thanks to Mark Rysavy from the village of Bensenville for the heads up that this work was happening
