Watching the World

The Northern wheatear (Oenanthe oenanthe) always loves having the overview. Normally it finds the highest rock to stand straight on, but this shows that a top branch can do the work as well. I also captured this one in the top of another small tree.

This is a male during spring. Before migrating in autumn, they are more brown. Even though they're said to migrate in August and September, I've recently photographed some curious ones in their autumn plumage here by the coast. They're always a pleasing sight to me.

(Steinskvett hann, in Norwegian)
