Probably, the Apple USB Mouse was the world's first USB device virtually.

Very questionable design on this one, because it was too easy to lose track of which way the mouse was pointing. Luckily, this was an easy problem to fix--an extra, $10 accessory that snapped onto the mouse to give it a more traditional shape did the trick, creating a large-sized mouse that ended up being one of the nicer mice in Apple history.

I did meet one person once who liked the unaltered round design. He was an 11 year old kid, who felt the shape was a good fit for his small hand. I am not sure how he resolved the direction problem though. ;)

Me, I had a green one of these. I stlll have it in fact--I should dig it out for when the stupid ball on my "Mighty" Mouse finally, inevitably fails.
