A Fish Out of Water

I picked this up at a flea market for a couple of bucks to see how difficult it would be to rim light a glass object that wasn't completely transparent.

 

It's a bit trickier. You have to combine a few techniques to bring out the translucent sections.

 

This was shot on a black reflective surface lit by an out of focus diffusion panel bounced back into the fish body with a gold reflector kept low to side light the puddles of water.

 

No fish were harmed in any way making this photo although I did eat fish that night for dinner.
