Dampened By The Rain

The clouds converge

The sky has darkened

A chill in the air

And mine ears do harken

For the falling is upon us

Of the water to rush down

Into the dry streets

Dampening the town

Upon treetops and leaves

Down to the roots at their feet

Though seen as a scourge

To the Earth, it is so sweet

For falling to the soil

Parched as it may be

It is the blood of life

Coursing through you and me

Rivers pass it on

To the seas and lakes

The sun then harvests it

A cycle without breaks

Falling to the ground

Only to be acheived

By the lips of a flower

A worthy place indeed
