Tatooine, now even more defunct

A cliff-top house on the Pacific Coast in San Mateo County, just south of Devil's Slide, long rendered inaccessible by erosion defies elements and reminds us of the folly of building where nature never intended us to build. Devil's Slide is a treacherous part of the scenic California Highway 1 skirting the Pacific Ocean, that is often blocked by rock slides from the hills above, or from the roadway falling in the ocean. This haunting structure stands high on the ocean side of the road.
