Bratislava - Misty Twilight in Nový Most Bridge
Nový Most - Bratislava, Slovakia.
It was gray and dreary throughout the day in Bratislava, but I had a nice time watching the city make preparations for Christmas in the shops and around the main market square. Meanwhile, up in the castle grounds to take this shot, it was biting cold and misty, and the usually busy city roads had a unusual lull, perhaps complimenting the lackluster twilight. I was still glad to be able to add this shot to my portfolio, on my second - although rather short - visit to Bratislava.
The Nový Most is a road bridge over the Danube in Bratislava. Although it is the shortest bridge in the World Federation of Great Towers, and is the only bridge to be a member, it is the world's longest cable-stayed bridge to have one pylon and one cable-stayed plane. The bridge was built between 1967 and 1972 and officially opened on August 26, 1972 as the second bridge over the Danube in Bratislava.
