Lightning over Cologne Germany

Once in a lifetime shot, for me at least. I had not anticipated the storm that night as the day started out so nice. The clouds rolled in right before sunset. After the very short blue hour period, the thunder rolled and lightning struck every few seconds. I had to guess where the lightning would strike as it struck on different positions. I would not have done it without my cable release and a little bit of guesswork. The rain fell only a few seconds after this shot. I would have liked more branches on that lightning and more DOF to render the cathedral sharper, but that would be on a perfect day.
