Often Forgotten

The electric exhibits at Trainworks are often overshadowed by their steam and diesel counterparts, but their contribution to the railways of NSW were no less valuable. The 86 Class were used to haul heavy coal and freight trains along the electrified network to the north, south and west of Sydney. Meanwhile, C3804 was the first of four double deck electric motor cars purchased by the NSWGR, and pioneered a fleet of all double deck trains that continues to be built in 2013 (albeit to a slightly more modern design).
