Light painted Mickey
Assignment: pca13 – Light Painting w/o post processing
Deadline: January 13th, 2008
Image Tag: pca13
From: wildlens2007 (Katherine)
Mission: Employ the technique of Light Painting to create a beautiful photograph with little or no computer processing. I would suggest limiting PP to Unsharp Mask, Noise Reduction, Straighten and Crop. Hopefully, at the end of this assignment, we will all print our images and hang them on the wall.
WIT: After trying with several ideas I settled with this picture.
I wanted to create a a pleasing trails of lights on the background and illuminate my subject with the same type of light. So I got this reflective Micke Mouse Salt & Pepper set from the kitchen and set off to get the image I wanted.
For PP I cropped, sharpened, brightened a bit and did curves adjustments to increase contrast.
Hit me with your comments, suggestions and thoughts.
Equipment: Taken with a Nikon D40x, a 55-200 lens at 82mm, camera on a small tripod with a 25sec, f/4.5 and ISO 100 exposure.
