April 2010 I went to Saigon in order to participate in the albb-Open Studio program "A window until the rains come".

From April 2nd-13th I was working with my own take on Vietnamese lacquer painting within the frames of this "open source"-project which was held in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. A sort of "work in progress"-situation where the audience was supposed to activate themselves in the process.

A couple days into the project, my good friend Nguyen Duc Loi approached me with a request to start copying my ongoing work in the studio.

Furthermore Australian artist Michael Bullock was also a participant in the project and shared the small studio space with me and Loi throughout the period.

I stayed in Saigon for four weeks and our work led to the collaborative piece "Duc Loi Sai Gon Art Construction & Maintenance Joint Stock Company".
