Spider lurking in lichen

    Newer Older

I was trying photograph the lichen on this tree when a tiny spider popped out of a crack - and stared at me. I think it's a jumping spider, probably a zebra spider (but I'm not confident identifying spiders...).

    Handheld, natural light, cropped.

Fantastic macro - this could be taken on an alien world. That lichen creates a wonderful landscape for that fearsome-looking spider. Excellent work! :-)
