Green Hairstreak (Callophrys rubi)

    Newer Older

My first sighting of this pretty little butterfly. Several were on hawthorn bushes in the shelter of the dunes at Donna Nook, Lincs. I spent quite a while watching them, but I'd been a bit forgetful and left my water bottle (and lunch) at home so couldn't stay as long as I'd have liked.

I've got some shots of them on a plainer green background, but wanted to show one on the blossom. Perhaps I'll get round to posting some others later.

Thanks Roger for giving me such great directions :)

It looks so pretty on the blossom, much nicer than a plain background in my opinion.
