The first cream-spot ladybird I've seen this year (well, actually the second, but the first pinged off into oblivion when I tried to tilt the twig it was on to get it out of a shadow!).
On the weeping silver birch in my front garden. Taken just after a wintry shower - hence the tiny droplets of water.
Cream-spot ladybird, Calvia 14-guttata.
Handheld, natural light. The observant of you might notice that I've used a different set-up than usual - borrowed my boyfriend's camera and lens.
#38 in my photo-a-day project.
