Halo Around the Moon

    Newer Older

Halo around the Full Moon (09.14.2008) while TAing for Astr313. The 6 inch tube is on the right. A plane had recently flown by the Moon. There is also a bright patch along the halo to the left. This is due to water structures in the atmosphere.

We didn't get any observing in, but this was quite cool to see.

I've had luck with getting solar halo shots, but not lunar halos as yet - will be keeping an eye out!
