Belur Chennakesava Temple

Located 220 km from Bengaluru in Hassan District, Belur (Beluru) is a major tourist attraction and home to Chennakesava temple, one of the finest examples of Indian Art. According to the history, construction of this temple began in 1117 CE by King Vishnuvardhana of Hoysala dynasty. The temple built on a star shaped platform and is completely covered with sculptures of extraordinary details. No wonder it took nearly 100 years to complete.

I think i can't explain any more about the complex art work other than posting few photographs. Photographed is the front view of temple.
