This is all that remains of magazine A, from which a lot of the powder and shot expended at Trafalgar was loaded out to the ships at Spithead by barge. The Club is in discussion with the local authority to see how much can usefully be preserved, and perhaps a small section restored.


This picture shows a part of the vaulted floor. Water flowed underneath to keep the atmosphere damp to reduce explosion risk.
