St. Clair Streetcar ROW Inauguration
On Saturday, December, 19th, 2009, the two 1951 Presidents’ Conference Committee (PCC) streetcars, #4500 and #4549, were put into service for the inaugural run on the brand new St. Clair right of way. Riders were treated to a free ride on the PCCs between Bathurst Street and Lansdowne Avenue, where they had the option of hopping on and off the streetcars, and shopping locally and supporting local businesses on St. Clair. After many months, regular streetcar service will resume starting Sunday, December 20th, 2009, with streetcars using the completed right of way from Yonge Street to Lansdowne Avenue.
