I think it's bright and cheerful and shows someone you care- a LOT! You have raised the bar for the rest of us!

No, no, the colours aren't "firey" at all, they are actually very much like the colours of the Australian Bush - the wildflowers and the soil and the blue skies, so it's absolutely perfect.

Wow, Quiltsalad, this is amazing in such a short time. Don't worry about the colour. The patches of aqua are like little bits of blue sky after a storm - a promise of hope.

Hi, I'm an admin for a group called fabric, patchwork and quilting, and we'd love to have this added to the group!

Beautiful. I made a block today the center fabric has fish. It is not completely finished yet. Tomorrow is a field trip to a museum with my first grader and his class. I hope to sew more this weekend. I am so excited to see some of the quilts come together. I looked at the swirling fabric on one of my blocks and thought of fire swirling in circles. I think many of us as artists and crafters have a physical and emotional reaction to our fabrics. We still move forward. I would have to believe the fabrics will help some in the processing of what has happened. What you have created here is beautiful and emotional.

I think you're right QT we do tend to feel our colors and selections in very physical and emotional ways and that's what draws us back time and again. After 30 years of quilting it's certainly not the joy of sewing for me it's the feeling I get from the creation and the love of passing that bit of love on to others.

well someone is going to adore it Sally ....you have captured something of Australia here...might be your connection to Faye or your subconscious...but you have actually created something alive here. I am in awe of your spirit and talent

Quiltsalad, this shows LIFE and as others have said, is symbolic of Australia. Love it. You have inspired more than just me to keep making our blocks I am sure - just not all of us as quickly as you have.

Well done. It will touch someone very deeply.

Hmmmm.....is he trying to sell me quilts? That's one thing I don't need to buy.

LOL! Quite confusing, but that's what it seems to be, 'Dear'. ;-)

That is an odd comment isn't it, "Dear" But your quilt top still is awesome!
