For this lap quilt I made over 100 scrappy leaves in sizes from 2 3/4" to 7" and arranged them improv style with background pieces added as needed. I didn't have a plan for this one, it just evolved. I quilted it with a swirly pantograph to look like the blowing wind. About a dozen leftover leaves are pieced into the backing. Finished size about 50" x 76"
I have used this leaf pattern many times. It is paper pieced and adapted from a pattern that I think originally came from Quiltmaker magazine.
