Riddarsholmen in Stockholm, Sweden. This was taken from the island of Södermalm. Stockholm is situated on five or seven islands, depending on how you count. Stockholm is also at the western side of a large archipelago, which is one of my favorite places to explore.
The ship in the foreground is the Mälardrottningen which translates to "The Queen of Lake Mälaren". It's a luxury yacht built 1924 and given to Barbara Hutton on her 18th birthday . She was the only child of Edna Woolworth, who was a daughter of Frank W. Woolworth, the founder of the successful Woolworth five and dime stores.
Since 1982 Mälardrottningen was converted to a restaurant and hotel in 1982 and is permanently moored at Riddarholmen, Stockholm, Sweden
