Mystery object in street
A mystery object fell in Sloan Street, Stafford Heights, at 9.15 last night.
It was found by Mr. David Dalrymple, who heard it fall.
The object 9in. long and 2in. in diameter was a bright silvery colour.
it was of metal, had fins, and looked like the remains of a rocket.
It looked as if it could be made of [aluminium] he said.
When he picked it up, it was hot.
Police today are wondering if it could account for the dozens of reports of a red fireball seen hurtling across the sky last night.
Stafford police have taken change of the find.
It will be sent to the C.I.B. scientific section for examination.
