Szimpla Kert terrace

The "ruin bar" idea is from the late 90s to early Aughts, when there were a lot of abandoned buildings throughout this particular district. People with more creativity than money started taking over and turning them into indie bars - and the decor was achieved via dumpster diving. Szimpla was one of the first and biggest; it is in a former apartment building, and the entire building is the bar. There's a main courtyard area for everyone to mingle in, while each of the little rooms surrounding it boasts a different kind of bar - wine in one room, cocktails in another, a craft beer area up on the 2nd floor, live music in the back, what looked like a hookah lounge out in one corner...
