2500 Creative Commons Licenses

Newer Older

To celebreate the 2.5 month, 250 member, and 2500 image milestone, I recreated the Creative Commons Composite logo using 2500 flickr images.

However, i was not able to create this image out of items from the VIsual Mashup pool, as I strongly wanted the CC logo to strictly follow explicit CC licensing.

So I grabbed about 4000 appropriately tagged images from my contacts, and used 2500 of them to create this image.

I encourage you to find your work in this mosaic. If you are a contact of mine, and you regularly indicate a CC license on your work - in particularly one that allows deriv. work - then chances are good you'll find at least one piece of your work in here.

If not, well, set up your cc licenses on whatever work you can soon! .... (mysteriously), the 3 month anniversary of Visual Mashups is just around the corner!!!

If you'd like the see the original blend I created to use as the source for the mosaic, its next down on my photostream, or just click here:

Les AnnaChromes, nevilleonwe, and 108 other people added this photo to their favorites.

you can be so creative, and it is wonderful that you include a big group of popular flickr users into your artwork and make it interresting and fun even in them finding their pieces of work and how many are there....
    great job :-)

    Hi Thomas

Great work. I loved the image so much I've used it in a blog post about copyright and Creative Commons with a link back to your Flickr feed.

    Hope that's OK. Great stuff.

This image is a great collage. I really like the colors in it. It actually inspired me to write a piece of short fiction. If you are interested, writinginfocus.wordpress.com/2010/07/13/touchstone/

    Thanks for the inspiration!

This is gorgeous! I found this through Zemanta while writing a blog post about creative commons licensing (mrskrummel.com/wordpress/?p=78). Beautiful work! ♥

This is quite possibly the coolest copyright symbol ever. Really beautiful.
