The photos in this collection were scanned by Christopher Ligowitz for use by the Port Washington Public LIbrary. Toney Ligowitz (Christopher's father) owned and operated the Harbor View Boatyard in Port Washington, NY from 1952 to 1977. The yard was situated on two acres of waterfront property on Manhasset Bay. The land was previously owned by the U.S. government and the hangars that can be seen in some of the photos were used to house reconnaissance seaplanes during World War II.
