Bright Ideas - Day 263 of Project 365

I'm struggling for bright ideas at the moment! Plus I seem to have started to get a hand fetish, as this isn't the first time my hand has made it into my 365!

Today I discovered that at some point yesterday I must have inadvertently nudged the thermostat in the fridge... and turned it into a freezer... This morning I had to microwave the orange juice just to get some into a glass.

The brightness of the bulb was balanced by a bit of fill flash from the right. This helped bring out the text on the bulb and picked out more detail on my hand.

I originally planned to do this as a black and white... so I don’t know why I ended up leaving it in colour?

Lightroom: crop, push the black point to remove most of the background detail, use the brush tool to pick out my thumb more and remove some background bits, vignette, saturation +10, tweak brightness and contrast, save to JPG

Strobist: 580EX II into shoot through umbrella handheld to camera right, on TTL flash cord, FEC -2, camera metering to spot.

Soldered a wire to the back of the bulb and ran the wire down the back of my arm, but shh, don't tell anyone ;)

I'm not sure what a 'bone idle git' is exactly, but I'm feeling like one, too.

Very clever and funny! I like the concept. The photo fitted perfectly into our article about saving energy, so we used it on our Toronto real estate blog. Thanks for the CC licence!
