Spent a relaxing day in the office, it’s true what they say, with modern technology you can work anywhere. My Wi-Fi stretches this far so why not work here on a nice day?
This shot isn’t exactly how I planned it. The first idea was to go to the top of a local hill, but then reality kicked in and so did the realisation of the logistics involved! So this shot involved slightly less work, I had also wanted to do more of a wide angle shot to emphasize the fact that I am sat in the middle of a field.... But time was against me, and so was the wind, umbrellas and gusting wind never work well together.... hence the big stone on the flash stand!
Lightroom: oh heck where do I start, auto levels then tweak back setting to suit, apply slight “s” to curves, grad filter with 50% saturation to the top of the photo, use the brush tool to darken the desk and printer a bit and lighten my face and leg, saturation +10, USM sharpen, post crop vignette, save to JPG
Strobist: 580exII at full power into reflective umbrella to camera left, nuclear fusion from the sun to camera right, setup shot is here. To get shutter speed down to a usable sync speed in broad daylight I used an ND 8 filter hence the vignette in the setup shot!
