The Bear-Necessities of Glacier

I couldn't go to Glacier National Park and not take time to watch one of the most awe-inspiring animals in North America. My buddy, Andy Roberts, and I rented the 500mm Canon lens along with the 2x extender just so we could get some cool wildlife photography. First off, the lens was radical to say the least. I really need to buy this! Secondly, the bears of Glacier are incredible animals. It was fascinating to talk with the park rangers about the bears diet of service berries and huckleberries this time of year. They said the huckleberries were not going to produce this year, and it was going to cause the bears to be stressed in the next couple of weeks due to a lack of the food in their environment. I am amazed at the correlation of the weather, food, man, and the wildlife in the park and how things are so connected. Regardless, I'm glad I got to spend some time watching this grizzly bear and hiking this beautiful national park.
