Excavations being carried out at Lothal in the Ahmedabad district, Bombay have yielded almost at the entire range of objects found at Harappa and Mohenjo-daro, thus extending the zone of the Indus Valley Civilization by another 600 miles.

Particularly notable among the objects recovered at Lothal are seals and sealings bearing animal figures and Indus script. A Steatite seal bearing the Indus script and the figures of the unicorn.
